F.A.Q.

We know it can be a little unnerving to step into something new, especially when you’re not exactly sure
about the details that matter to you. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the
church to give you a picture of what Kerusso Baptist Church looks like week to week and hopefully
address issues important to you.

What should I wear?

Dress is left up to the conscience of each individual. You are welcome to wear a suit and tie or jeans and a shirt. We know that ultimately it is God who looks at the heart and we believe the principles of Romans 14 apply to dress as long as the biblical principles
of modesty are followed.

What kind of people make up Kerusso?

What you’ll encounter when you attend Kerusso is a diverse biblical community where people seek to know
and love God, live in community with others and transform the world by serving our city as we think Jesus would. Practically speaking, that means the some of us are just checking out Christianity for the first time, while others have been in church most of their lives. Kerusso members span all different ages and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome.

What is there for my children?

We believe that the primary role of the Church is to support and equip the family to lay the foundation of the faith for the children. We encourage families to feel free to worship together in the sanctuary for service. We also recognize that age appropriate teaching is beneficial to children. We offer children’s church during the worship hour for grades K-6 as well as nursery care. We also take safety very seriously and normally do have a check-in system in place to assure every child is accounted for. There are also programs for every age on Wednesday evenings from PreK-High School as well as adult Bible study in the sanctuary.

Can I invite my friends?

Please do. We seek to be a welcoming environment for people who are curious about Christianity or who are seeking to belong to a community of believers.

What does a typical service look like?

At Kerusso you can expect everything we do to be centered around Jesus and his Word. That includes the songs we sing and the messages we preach. Our music is a mix of the hymns of yesterday, and the music of today. Sunday service usually lasts an hour but we always enjoy spending time in fellowship after the service, so stay as long as you like, you’re among friends!
